Management of CSR

Since 2012, Técnicas Reunidas has published CSR reports in accordance with the international GRI frameworks. In 2016, the Company adapted its report to meet the recommendations of the International Integrated Reporting Framework and also underwent an independent external audit on CSR indicators in accordance with ISAE 3000 (revised).

 

The Corporate Responsibility Policy of Técnicas Reunidas, approved by the Board of Directors and mandatory for all employees, suppliers and contractors, describes the guidelines of the company on environmental, social and ethics matters.

 

Control is the principle applied by the company on these matters; this requires the implementation of policies, processes and controls that favour a behaviour aimed at compliance of commitments and that serve to prevent, detect and eradicate actions that are not in line with these principles, always in line with the law as well as applicable internal and external rules.

Environmental and Quality goals

Environmentally, the ultimate objective of the company is to protect the natural environment minimizing its environmental impact through the rational use of resources, innovation, contamination prevention and the use of the best technologies and processes available.

 

Social

In terms of safety and health, the company understands that the only acceptable objective is to achieve zero accidents, both of employees and contractors. In order to advance towards this objective, Técnicas Reunidas integrates safety criteria in all its projects and processes

 

Ethical

The objective, in this field is the maintenance of an integral behavior in the development of the activities, regulated in the main internal norms of good government.

 

Working principles:
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and prevention against corruption.
  • Establish and review objectives and publicly report on the degree of progress achieved in the various areas.
  • Provide suitable and ongoing training to employees and collaborators.
  • Create efficient communication channels with employees and all stakeholders.

Other CSR initiatives

The Company is also involved in some of the key CSR business initiatives including the UN Global Compact and the CDP Climate Change. Similarly, and in light of the recent approval by the United Nations of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Técnicas Reunidas is keen to show its commitment to these goals, having implemented various actions over recent years which contribute to their achievement.

  • Global Compact

Técnicas Reunidas strongly supports the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. In addition, as a signatory entity, it has committed to continue implementing and improving the Group’s social responsibility and to communicate progress annually in a public manner, in the Integrated Report.

  • CDP

CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project), has developed the world’s most comprehensive self-reporting environmental data collection system. These data allow to make more informed decisions in actions with environmental impact.

  • Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 objectives aimed at taking measures to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. They carry a spirit of collaboration to choose the best options in order to improve life, in a sustainable manner, and provide clear guidelines and goals for their adoption.
