Celebrating 10 Years of the SDGs: Técnicas Reunidas’ Commitment

This year marks the 10th anniversary since the United Nations Member States adopted the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a global milestone that has paved the way toward a fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable future. At Técnicas Reunidas, we are proud to reaffirm our commitment to these goals by integrating them into our corporate strategy and into every one of our projects around the world.

As an engineering company, our work is not only focused on technical excellence but also on generating a positive impact on communities, the environment, and the global economy. Over the past decade, we have aligned our efforts with the SDGs, prioritizing concrete actions across several dimensions:

• Innovation and Energy Efficiency (SDGs 7 & 9): We have implemented sustainable technologies that optimize resources and reduce the environmental footprint of our projects. Over €13 million has been invested in R&D&I, developing solutions such as digital twins, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and collaborative robots, by enhancing both efficiency and safety.</br></br>
• Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8): We promote a safe, inclusive, and equitable work environment, fostering professional development and attracting specialized talent to strengthen our global operations. In 2024, Técnicas Reunidas allocated over €2 million to training local talent, reinforcing our commitment to communities and sustainable development.</br></br>
• Climate Action and Responsible Resource Management (SDGs 12 & 13): Through our strategic SALTA plan, we drive decarbonization, digitalization, and efficiency across all our processes. We adopt practices that minimize environmental impact, support the transition to a low-carbon future, and promote sustainability throughout our value chain.</br></br>
• Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11): Every project is planned with a focus on positive community and environmental impact, ensuring that infrastructure and services deliver lasting benefits to society. Additionally, by supporting local suppliers, Técnicas Reunidas made over 87% of its purchases and subcontracting in 2024 with companies located in the areas where we operate.<br><br>
• Partnerships to Achieve the Goals (SDG 17): We collaborate with clients, suppliers, and communities to create shared value and promote sustainable, innovative solutions to global challenges. In 2024, the Group invested €1,430,789 in social action projects and organizations, reinforcing its commitment to societal development and all its stakeholders.<br><br>

Our commitment to the SDGs is also reflected in our adherence to the UN Global Compact, aligning our policies and practices with sustainability principles. Every project we undertake, every decision we make, is guided by the conviction that economic, social, and environmental development can move forward hand in hand.
