Advanced and efficient natural gas fuelled power generation technologies will replace higher carbon emitters alternatives

Natural gas will enable a fair and smooth energy transition

Natural gas is the cleanest fossil fuel. According to the International Energy Agency, shift to gas provides 8% of the emissions reductions needed to achieve the climate goals of the Paris Agreement.

For instance, natural gas is allowing a faster deployment of intermittent renewable energies. Moreover, it is allowing the replacement of higher emitter carbon fuels in several energy intensive industries (steel, cement, petrochemicals), until near zero carbon alternatives are available at competitive prices.

Natural gas is key for the reduction of carbon energy

Population growth and improved living standards in developing countries require a sustained, competitive and environmentally friendly energy supply.

Renewable energy-based power systems need additional reliable power sources to manage the inherent intermittency of wind and solar generation and to ensure supply during peak demand events. Advanced and efficient natural gas fuelled power generation technologies allow the accomplishment of these objectives, replacing higher carbon emitters alternatives.

Natural gas and natural gas liquids significantly reduce air pollution

Natural gas also remarkably reduces the emission of other air pollutants like particles, sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides.

Indoor air pollution is responsible for around 2.6 million deaths every year due to the use of coal, charcoal or biomass in cooking and heating in developing countries´ households.

The replacement of these fuels with natural gas liquids (propane, butane) will significantly contribute to reduce this figure and help to achieve the 7th sustainable development goal, access to affordable and clean energy.

94%

About 94% of the natural gas demand growth in this decade will come from Asia and Africa developing economies.

We offer integrated services for the natural gas industry

Our services cover the complete natural gas supply chain. From engineering to full EPC services and from production of natural gas to the final delivery of regasified gas.

We have successfully executed projects in remote geographies for some of the most renowned natural gas production companies. Our designs apply the most stringent standards and technologies to reduce methane emissions through the whole value chain.

We are present in the whole natural gas value chain

Our skills and capabilities cover the full natural gas value chain, from the well to the final delivery to clients.

We have designed and built all kind of facilities, from the development of natural gas fields, to gas treatment and processing plants, pipelines, compression stations, liquefaction, storage tanks and the final regasification facilities for the delivery of natural gas.

More specifically, we design natural gas gathering, separation and stabilisation systems; our projects sweeten natural gas, eliminate impurities and recover natural gas liquids for further monetization.

We have a strong footprint in the liquefied natural gas value chain, from liquefaction to LNG loading and unloading systems, storage tanks and regasification facilities with all the associated marine work.

We are extending our capabilities to minimize natural gas carbon footprint

Natural gas is a key primary energy for the energy transition. Our efforts, together with our customers, aim to ensure that the role of natural gas is performed with the lowest possible carbon footprint.

We support our clients in their goals of generating energy with advanced and efficient combined cycles fuelled by natural gas.

We are designing carbon capture and storage facilities that minimize the carbon footprint of natural gas power generation while supporting the growth of renewables.

Furthermore, we are involved in the design and construction of plants that produce low-carbon hydrogen from natural gas reform for existing clean fuels and petrochemicals.
