The petrochemical industry plays an essential role in enabling other industries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions

Petrochemicals are a cornerstone of sustainable development

Owing to an ever-present character of petrochemicals, they become a key for ensuring social and economic progress.

Petrochemicals´ derivatives facilitate drinking water supply, increase units ´ nutrients absorption, extend food and beverages shelf life, allow to reduce consumption of building energy and weight of vehicles and planes. Healthcare progress has become possible thanks to the use of petrochemicals in such items as masks, vaccines, transfusions, tubings, prostheses and so on.

Petrochemicals enable other industries to reduce their carbon footprint

The petrochemical industry plays an essential role in enabling other industries to improve their energy efficiency and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

Petrochemicals contribute to the deployment of wind and solar power through the supply of key materials as resins for blades, coating materials for wind turbines or sealants for PV panels. Polystyrene, polyurethane and other windows and doors materials improve building insulation and energy efficiency. Furthermore, petrochemicals reduce fuel consumption in transportation, lightening cars and planes weight and producing more efficient tire materials.

Increasing demand of plastics

Demand of petrochemicals will grow over the next decades, specially in developing countries, as a growing share of population gains access to higher living standards and a broader set of consumers´ goods.

Refining and petrochemical integrated complexes will play an important role in ensuring the efficient supply of raw material for plastics. Additionally, natural gas will become the main feedstock for the petrochemical industry in the coming future, helping to decarbonize the manufacturing process.

According to the International Energy Agency, the consumption of plastics will grow by a 50% between 2020 and 2050

We design and build advanced petrochemical complexes

Through our broad portfolio of services, we help our clients define their investments by the application of the most advanced technologies.

From the feasibility stage, we support our clients by assessing the technical feasibility of their projects and designing their production processes, applying from the beginning the knowledge acquired in the execution of EPC projects. We are not only integrating petrochemical processes and units with existing refineries but building them from scratch. This contributes to the reduction of carbon footprint of the overall supply chain, minimizes the use of resources and helps achieve the highest levels of energy efficiency.

We cover a broad spectrum of petrochemical processes

We cover all the spectrum of petrochemical processes such as olefins, aromatics, methanol and fertilizers. We have designed and built more than 100 petrochemical processing units worldwide for several world leading petrochemical companies.

The units designed and built include processes for the whole ethylene value chain, polypropylene and it’s derivatives, aromatics, urea and ammonia. We work with all major petrochemicals’ licensors. Furthermore, we have proprietary technologies for nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, mono and diammonium phosphate and NPK fertilizers.

We are designing the next wave of bio feedstock-based plants

Chemical industry is evolving to decarbonize the plastic manufacturing process, utilizing bio feedstock as a raw material in the production of the different derivatives.

We are already in that future: we design advanced plants to produce methanol from waste. We are supporting and collaborating with our clients to define green ammonia plants with renewable energy as the primary feedstock for producing green hydrogen. We are also developing our own proprietary technologies to produce levulinic acid, a component for the cosmetic and pharma industry, from biomass feedstocks.
