International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Every February 11, we celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a day to highlight the role of women in research, innovation, and the technology sector. At Técnicas Reunidas, science and engineering are fundamental to addressing the challenges of the energy transition and sustainability, and female talent is a key part of this commitment.

From the Técnicas Reunidas Technology Center, the hub of the company’s R&D&I activities, professionals like Nuria Bausá Martínez, Head of R&D Projects in Electrochemical Technologies, contribute to the development of solutions with real impact. Her scientific vocation awakened in childhood, driven by curiosity, science games, and an interest in asking questions and solving problems. This led her to study Chemical Engineering and specialize with a doctorate in Sustainable Chemistry.

Today, Nuria works in a demanding and stimulating environment, combining research, project development, and collaboration with companies and other research centers. She participates in industrial decarbonization initiatives, such as developing electrolyzers for green hydrogen production, convinced that perseverance, teamwork, and selfconfidence are key to transforming research into applicable solutions. For her, contributing through science to a more sustainable future is both a responsibility and a source of inspiration, because every advance, however small, makes a difference.

With this celebration, Técnicas Reunidas reaffirms its commitment to science, innovation, and the promotion of female talent, inspiring new generations to explore, believe in themselves, and be part of the change.
