IESE and Técnicas Reunidas sign an agreement to promote research into decarbonisation

  • Técnicas Reunidas has joined IESE’s Centre for International Finance (CIF) as a patron company.
  • Both organisations will collaborate on the research project “Carbonomics: The Challenge of Decarbonisation and Decoding Sustainability”, led by Professor Miguel Duro.

IESE Business School and Técnicas Reunidas have signed a strategic collaboration agreement under which the company joins IESE’s Centre for International Finance (CIF) as a Patron Company and will support the development of the research project “Carbonomics: The Challenge of Decarbonisation and Decoding Sustainability”, led by Professor Miguel Duro.

Miguel Duro, Professor of Accounting and Control at IESE Business School and co-director of the CIF, has a long track record as an executive in major international companies and has carried out extensive academic and research work on financial markets, corporate governance and sustainability, amongst other topics.

The strategic alliance signed by IESE and Técnicas Reunidas aims to promote research and the generation of knowledge regarding the economic, technological, regulatory, market and financing challenges associated with the transition to a low-carbon economy.

It will also help to strengthen the dissemination of knowledge and the training of executives in the field of decarbonisation.

Técnicas Reunidas, through track, its unit specialising in decarbonisation, will contribute its expertise in technology analysis, project development, the structuring of value chains, and the regulatory landscape and markets for low-carbon products.

Thanks to this collaboration, IESE will be able to broaden the scope of its studies with new sectoral and international analyses, promote the publication of specialised research, and strengthen academic activities and events that foster debate amongst companies, investors and experts on the challenges and opportunities of the sustainable transition.

Joaquín Pérez de Ayala, Head of track, has stated that “the collaboration with IESE is a great opportunity for Técnicas Reunidas to share the knowledge it has accumulated on the economics and technology of decarbonisation, the challenges of which must be understood and addressed in a coordinated manner across all sectors”.
