TR Power will account for a third of Técnicas Reunidas’ revenue in 2028

In an interview published by El Economista (22/09/2026), Juan Lladó, Executive Chairman of Técnicas Reunidas, stated that “TR Power will generate 2 billion in revenue in 2028, double what was expected, and will account for a third of the group” in that year.

The newspaper highlights that “Técnicas Reunidas is redoubling its commitment to TR Power, the subsidiary specialising in the development of large gas-turbine combined-cycle power plants, to turn it into one of its main growth drivers”; and notes that, as Juan Lladó explains, it was created “to prevent its growth from being diluted” within the company’s traditional business “and to better capitalise on the growing opportunities” that have opened up for its activities.

It also points out that “the expectations Técnicas Reunidas has for TR Power are supported by formalised contracts, agreed deals, and the enormous opportunities offered by the market due to the strong growth in global electricity generation demand.”

A large part of these expectations is concentrated in the United States, a country where potential clients have learned that “we compete more effectively with American companies because we have the most experience and the best relationships with turbine manufacturers,” Juan Lladó highlighted.

Coinciding with this interview, Cinco Días (23/09/26) published an extensive feature on the present and future of TR Power, and Expansión (24/09/26) included an opinion article on the company by Eduardo San Miguel, CEO of Técnicas Reunidas.

In the latter, San Miguel notes that “the TR Power team will grow from the current 900 people to 1,500” in 2028.

This growth “requires having a single, highly specialised team in a specific location within our Madrid engineering centre, the largest in Spain, with more than 6,000 engineers dedicated to designing new plants. And holding the foundation-stone ceremony for its new building last Monday was a source of enormous satisfaction.”
