Técnicas Reunidas joins Grupo Español para el Crecimiento Verde

Técnicas Reunidas has joined Grupo Español para el Crecimiento Verde (GECV), an association that brings together 53 companies with the aim of fostering public-private collaboration to overcome the environmental challenges currently facing our society and to promote a sustainable, circular and efficient economy.

The GECV promotes the participation of its members in the most relevant debates on environmental issues that take place both nationally and internationally, facilitates the exchange of information and identifies opportunities for Spanish companies to successfully face these challenges.

In this way, it contributes to the generation and diffusion of the knowledge necessary for sustainable development and to the creation of favorable conditions for achieving a low-carbon economy. In particular, it is based on the conviction that the business network is an essential agent for designing and applying solutions in the fight against climate change, decarbonization of the economy and development of a circular economy, which are key factors for ensuring the prosperity of our society.

Técnicas Reunidas has decided to join this initiative because of its alignment with the company’s Sustainability Strategy, its Sustainability Policy and its commitment to contribute to the fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, essential pillars that the company applies in the performance of its activities.

By joining the GECV, Técnicas Reunidas will participate in the dialogue with public administrations, appear before legislative bodies, attend important events in which it will be able to intervene and promote activities to contribute to the association’s objectives. All this is especially relevant at a time when Spain is facing the implementation of initiatives such as the Climate Change and Energy Transition Law or the Spanish Circular Economy Strategy and its first Action Plan.

Specifically, different corporate areas of the company will participate in the different working groups of the GECV, since the “green” focus of the association is not only environmental and transversal to all these groups, but also affects the Energy Transition (Energy Transition and Circular Economy), the Business Strategy (Energy Transition and Climate Policies), the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda and even Investor Relations (Sustainable Finance).
