Técnicas Reunidas joins the celebration of the anniversary of the SDGs

Técnicas Reunidas, as an organization committed to sustainability, joins the celebration of the 8th anniversary of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

On September 25, 2015, the 193 Member States of the United Nations signed the 2030 Agenda, which comprises 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This roadmap provides continuity to the Millennium Goals (2000-2015), which represented an initial effort to address global challenges such as the end of poverty, fight against hunger and improving access to education.

This ambitious and renewed plan focuses on people, the planet, prosperity, peace and collective participation. At Técnicas Reunidas we are committed to the implementation of concrete actions that contribute to the achievement of these objectives, actively collaborating in the construction of a sustainable future for all.

Since 2011 we have been signatories of the Global Compact, the main initiative of the United Nations in this matter. Our Sustainability Policy formally defines our commitment to sustainable development and establishes general principles of action, guaranteeing that each of our actions promotes the creation of value for all our interest groups.

Técnicas Reunidas contribution to the 17 SDGs is comprehensive and is manifested not only in our business approach but also in the execution of our operations, focusing our efforts on those SDGs in which we have the greatest potential to contribute, such as SDG 7 (affordable and non-polluting Energy), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and 13 (Climate Action). These Goals reflect our commitment to a more sustainable future in which we not only generate prosperity, but also leave a positive footprint on society and the environment.

This approach is part of our corporate culture and extends to other SDGs. We highlight our support for SDG 3 (Health and Well-being, providing a safe and inclusive work environment), training aimed at women in STEM fields in line with SDG 5, (Gender equality), and our contribution to SDG 8 (Decent work and economic growth), is reflected in our promotion of the local business fabric, advocating local employability. On its part, it envisages to guarantee sustainable production models in line with SDG 12 (Responsible production and consumption).

As Eduardo San Miguel, CEO of Técnicas Reunidas, points out: “The company has an international history that spans more than 60 years, and our mission is not limited to being leaders in our sector, but also extends to leading the construction of a more sustainable and equitable world. With this purpose, we have launched “track”, one of our main tools to enhance our position in this new context.”
