TR: Committed to Nature

On World Nature Protection Day, celebrated on 18 October, Técnicas Reunidas reaffirms its commitment to protecting biodiversity and responsibly managing natural resources. This commitment is closely aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 15 (Life on Land), which seeks to protect and restore terrestrial ecosystems, combat land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss.

Through key corporate documents, including its Integrated Report, Sustainability Policy, and Sustainability Plan, the Company formalizes its commitment to safeguarding the natural environment in all regions where it operates. To ensure compliance with environmental standards and objectives, Técnicas Reunidas carries out regular inspections and training activities, enabling the effective implementation of environmental measures and the monitoring of critical aspects such as dust emissions, noise levels, air emissions, water management, and biodiversity preservation.

In addition, the Company actively promotes initiatives aimed at the restoration and enhancement of natural environments, including tree-planting programmes designed to support vegetation growth and improve land conditions. These initiatives form part of its Environmental Management System, certified in accordance with ISO 14001, which provides a structured framework for identifying, managing, and mitigating environmental impacts while driving continuous improvement in environmental performance.
SDG 15 underscores that nature conservation extends beyond the protection of natural areas alone. It requires careful consideration of the impact that human activities may have on ecosystems, soil quality, vegetation, and wildlife. For engineering and industrial companies, integrating environmental considerations into both the design and execution phases of projects is essential to advancing sustainable development and ensuring long- term environmental stewardship.
